The volunteer arms of the Ocean County Library are our Friends groups. The Friends of the Island Library were the first Friends of the OCL, formed in 1959, and have a long and distinguished history of advocacy for library services on LBI.
Our Mission:
Library Friends work to advance the Ocean County Library’s mission of “Connecting People, Building Community, Transforming Lives.” Library Friends support the library as a vital community resource through advocacy, fundraising, programs, donations, and volunteerism.
What We Do:
→ Library Friends are more than meetings!
→ Support local branch activities.
→ Sponsor a variety of fundraisers in person and online.
→ Attend community and civic events as library advocates.
