Schedule of Festival Events:
All Festival Long
Sea glass, fossil, and beach find identification. Handmade, genuine sea glass jewelry, original coastal watercolors and artwork, handmade cards, curiosities, and nautical home décor — created by local artists. Book signings and lectures.
Guess the Sea Glass
Saturday & Sunday – All day – Winner to be announced Sunday at 4 p.m.
Guess the number of pieces of genuine sea glass in the big glass jar. Best guess wins and takes home the entire jar.

Best of the Best Sea Glass Contest
Sign up 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Judging at 3:30 p.m.
Contestants may enter a total of two pieces of sea glass. Entries must be found by the contestant — not purchased. Best Found on LBI and Best Found Anywhere Outside LBI, Best Overall of the Day, and The People’s Choice Award.
Book Reading: The Sea Glass Treasure
3 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Author Shelly Peters reads her newest work about the fantastical voyage of a glass fishing float. The Sea Glass Treasure, a simple story with a deeper message about embracing life. There will be a brief Q & A after the reading.
Lecture: Fossil and Artifacts of the New Jersey Coast
3:45 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Expert, enthusiast and fossil hunter, Derek Yoost will discuss fossils and prehistoric artifacts of the New Jersey coast. There will be a brief Q & A after the lecture.
Sunday:
Best of the Best Sea Glass Contest

Fossil & Artifact Contest
Sign up 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Judging at 1:30 p.m.
Contestants may enter one beach found fossil, archeological artifact, or oddity, such as bones, or teeth. Entry must be found by the contestant — not purchased.
Lecture: How to Identify Sea Glass
11 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Local sea glass hunter, artist and writer, Sara Caruso will discuss ways to identify the origins of sea glass finds, from the approximate age, to the history of an area. There will be a brief Q & A after the lecture.
Demo: Sea Glass Jewelry – Hammered Metal Jewelry
3 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Jewelry artist and instructor, Susan Spicer-McGarry of Cinderella by the Sea will demonstrate silversmithing techniques to create hammered metal jewelry.
Lecture: Fossils and Artifacts of the New Jersey Coast

NJ law mandates that all individuals must wear a face mask when outdoors in public places. This year for our event, you must wear a face mask that covers your mouth and nose. If you choose to wear a face shield you must also wear a mask that covers your mouth.
