Science Saturday: How are the Turtles Doing?

Science Saturday at the LBIF tackles today’s most pressing scientific, environmental, and sustainability issues that directly affect our shore community and the Barnegat Bay. Science Saturdays are interactive and informative hands-on presentations in an informal atmosphere.
Time: 10:00am – 12:30pm
Fee: $5, Free to LBIF Members (individual & above)!

February 2: How are the Turtles Doing?
Presenter: John Wneck, Project Terrapin Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science, Project Terrapin

Two part session! Session 1 – Family Program, 10:00am- 11:00am – How was turtle reproduction in 2018? How will they keep up with sea level rise? Bring your family to meet and interact with some of our local turtle species up close and personal. Session 2 – Adults, 11:00am-12:30pm – Dr. Wnek will focus on the continuing efforts to understand how derelict fishing gear is impacting Barnegat Bay with updates regarding bycatch and a project on blue crab captures.
