As we wrap up another remarkable year on Long Beach Island, 2025 stands out as a season defined by connection, creativity, and community pride. From meaningful initiatives that supported our local workforce to signature events that drew national attention, this year reminded us why LBI is more than a destination… it’s a way of life.
Here’s a look back at some of the moments that made 2025 one to remember.
Investing in Our Workforce: The LBI Job Fair
We began the year with one of our most impactful initiatives, the annual LBI Job Fair at the St. Francis Community Center. Designed to strengthen the backbone of our island economy, the job fair once again brought together local employers and eager job seekers preparing for the busy season ahead.
The energy in the room reflected what makes LBI thrive: collaboration, opportunity, and a shared commitment to supporting our small businesses year-round.
A Season Full of Island Life
As the island transitioned into spring and summer, LBI came alive in all the ways we love most. From bustling downtowns and beach days to concerts, community events, and long evenings spent with family and friends, the island buzzed with activity and warmth.
These everyday moments, paired with signature events, are what make Long Beach Island feel both vibrant and familiar, welcoming visitors while preserving the close-knit spirit our residents cherish.
A New Era for October’s Favorite Event: The 11th Annual LBI FLY Invitational Kite Festival
One of the true highlights of 2025 was the 11th Annual LBI FLY Invitational Kite Festival, which soared to new heights under the direction of new Kite Coordinator, Debra Bowlby.
This year’s festival delivered everything LBI FLY is known for and more. With elite, invitation-only kite fliers from across the country, breathtaking large-scale displays filled the October sky, transforming our shoreline into a living work of art. Beautiful fall weather that stood strong against hurricane-like predictions, strong attendance, and glowing community feedback made this year’s festival one of the most successful yet.
Under Debra’s leadership, LBI FLY continued to evolve as a premier, professionally curated event that celebrates artistry, innovation, and family-friendly fun while remaining deeply rooted in community and collaboration across Ship Bottom and Long Beach Township.
The Beauty That Grounds Us
While events and milestones mark the calendar, the constant throughout 2025 was the undeniable beauty of Long Beach Island itself. Golden sunrises, peaceful fall beaches, and the rhythm of the ocean reminded us daily why this place holds such meaning for so many.
Whether enjoyed during peak summer or the quieter “local summer” and winter months, LBI’s natural beauty continues to be our greatest asset and inspiration.
With Gratitude, Looking Ahead
None of this would be possible without the continued partnership and support of our six island municipalities: Barnegat Light, Harvey Cedars, Surf City, Ship Bottom, Long Beach Township, and Beach Haven. We are also endlessly grateful to our business community, volunteers, and residents who invest their time, talent, and heart into making Long Beach Island thrive.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with excitement, momentum, and a renewed appreciation for the community that makes LBI extraordinary. Thank you for being part of another incredible year… here’s to all that’s still to come!
