SATURDAY:

Sea Glass Guinness World Record Attempt (sign-up Noon-3pm; event in street by 3:30pm) – The first ever sea glass world record for most glass in a pile by weight. Get your net bags at Things A Drift in Ship Bottom starting Aug. 15th. Fill bags with real sea glass from anywhere. Bags will be weighed at festival and placed in a pile for record. Must sign up day of the festival to qualify.

Guess the Gallon Contest (all day, drawing at 4pm): Whoever guesses closest to the total amount wins the entire jar of sea glass!

Best Shard Contest (sign up 11am-3pm; Judging at 3:30pm) – Sea glass finds are judged to see who will be crowned best piece per category. Contestants may enter two pieces. Entries must be found not purchased. Ribbons awarded to first, second and third places in the following categories: Best of LBI, Best of New Jersey, Best of the World and Best Overall.

SUNDAY:

Fossil & Artifact Contest (sign up 11am-2pm, judging at 2:30pm) – Enter ONE beach find, it can be a fossil, bone, archaeological or historical item, shark teeth, arrow head or oddity. Entry must be found NOT purchased. Judged by New Jersey fossil expert Derek Yoost. Ribbons awarded for first, second, and third places for adult and children divisions.

Wrack Line Sculpture Contest (sign up 11am-1pm, judging at 1:30) – Create a sculpture made from beach finds. It can be made of trash or natural objects — as long as all the materials used were found on the beach. You must have the sculpture made before the event starts. It can take on any form, subject matter or size, but should fit on a table. Ribbons awarded for first, second, and third places for adult and children divisions.

ALL FESTIVAL LONG:

Shard and Fossil Identification: Sea glass expert Sara Caruso and fossil expert Derek Yoost will be on hand to help you identify and educate you on your beach finds.

Book Signings: Local authors are on hand to sign your favorite beach books.

18 vendors with always authentic sea glass jewelry, holiday ornaments, nautical home décor, local artwork, local authors, and gift ideas.

All events free to the public. All times subject to change. For the safety of our patrons, no pets allowed. Service dogs always welcome.
