It’s Wedding Season on Long Beach Island!

Dreaming of an LBI wedding? Our island has everything you need for the wedding day you deserve! Here are our yearly tips to help you navigate the process:

1. Having your Ceremony on the Beach? Plan Ahead!

Many towns require a permit to have a large gathering or a set-up in a public space – including the beach. Ask the town or borough in which you plan to hold the ceremony for their specific details and requirements. Some of your guests may require Beach Wheels (wheelchairs with large wheels for the sand) – these special chairs can be rented by request, depending on the town. Additionally, be sure to stay prepared with another location in the event of rain!

2. Shop Small & Hire Local

Working with knowledgeable local vendors provides you with the expertise and contact availability you need when planning a wedding. Being able to speak with your vendors directly makes a HUGE difference! You can find a ton of local vendors by participating in the LBI Wedding Roadshow on April 28th, 2019 (This is a Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce Event, please contact them with all questions). 3. Keep Local Event Weekends In Mind

Wedding Season coincides with the most beautiful (and busiest) time of the year on LBI. Be conscious of the following dates so you can plan accordingly for your wedding weekend.

Hop Sauce Festival: 6/1 (Beach Haven)

Lighthouse Film Festival: 6/6 – 6/9 (Across The Island)

Fourth of July Weekend: 7/5 – 7/7 (Across The Island)

Labor Day Weekend: 8/31 – 9/2 (Across The Island)

Chowderfest Weekend: 10/5 – 10/6 (Beach Haven)

LBI FLY International Kite Festival & 18-Mile Run: 10/5 – 10/8 (Ship Bottom, Barnegat Light, Long Beach Township, and Across The Island)
